Is it October already??  Where has the year gone?

I stopped by the barn to ride Blondie on my way home tonight. D and R were there, loading up the horse trailers. I thought they were leaving earlier in the day, but the convoy doesn't head out until 8 this evening. It's a long drive and I'm glad I'm not going!

Blondie picked up the canter the first way, but we struggled the second.  I finally let her run into it, just so we could call it quits.  Back in the barn, D told me to start thinking of quarters instead of eighths on that side.  She has a tough time picking it up, and I need to help her more.  We'll try again tomorrow. 

He also told me to kick dirt against the back door before I get on, since she keeps spooking back there.  With the safety saddle, I'm not so rattled when she does it, and I have to learn to deal with her quirks, so I'm not going to make things easier on us yet.
