10/21/07 at the Barn and Vid of the Day
M caught me, on film, cueing with my inside leg. I dispute that it was an actual squeeze, and was more of a twitch. Any way, you can be the judge.
Today was just perfect, weather-wise, so I lingered for a long time at the barn. I watched Sara and Zoe ride Wild Child, their new pony. Their dad finally relented, and after taking lessons for 14 years, they have their first horse. Then I watched Sara ride Ritz.
I had a good ride on Blondie, though she gave me trouble at the far end when she was cantering. She kept ducking out of the corners. M said it was because I kept squeezing her forward in anticipation of her spooking down there, so I need to relax more and not freak my horse out.
The academy shows start in November, and they run one per month until April. I really enjoy the casual atmosphere at these shows. I just wish it wasn't so darn cold in the barn! Hand warmers tucked in every pocket help with comfort levels, but my feet always start getting cold, no matter what I do.
