So, here we are in Grand Rapids, at the Country Inn & Suites. I decided to only travel half of the distance tonight, because I get up so early in the morning, and I didn't think I could drive all the way without falling asleep. Plus, the hotel is cheaper than the one in Ludington.
Since we just found out that A & D aren't going to leave until tomorrow morning, I thought I'd post a few pictures so you could see what the room is like. No need to get up early now! The room is clean, but when we first arrived, the door was mysteriously open. Kind of creepy, really. Hope nobody is hiding under the bed.
Well, here's the bathroom. As you can see, the toiletries are rather lacking. Nothing like the luxury of the Wilshire Grand and all of those lovely lotions, soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. It's true, Michigan isn't nearly as glamorous as California.
The tub. So sad. Only one soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Notice - just one of each. The towel is artfully folded, so I'll grudgingly give a point for that.
The sink. So barren. It made me feel lonely. Notice - just one soap and one lotion. And another artfully folded towel! Nothing else was on that long expanse of porcelain.
On to the bed. Lots of pillows, but their presentation is a little lacking. Don't know if they are comfy or not yet. Update to follow.
There are many pictures throughout the room, and each is rather homey. And boring. Not anything that I would hang in my own place, mind you, but since I need a restful night's sleep, they are more than appropriate. Kids, don't try climbing the walls at home!
Look! There is a hole in the wall! Wonder how it got here. Hope nothing climbs out of it while I'm sleeping.
There is also a coffee maker, and one, yes, ONE, packet of coffee. Sigh. I will be making many trips to the lobby in the morning to get my caffeine fix.
Last picture of the evening - there's a fridge and a microwave. Like last weekend, it's too bad that I'm not staying more than the evening. I never have these appliances in my room when I can actually use them!
