Catching up with Friends at Bi Bim Bab
Friday night, I met up with friends M & B at Bi Bim Bab. It had been a while since I last ate at this Korean restaurant, and I was looking forward to eating there again. After arriving at the Main Street Mall, I discovered that Lazy Lizard was no longer there, and a notice for Sheriff's auction was taped to the window. It wasn't the best Tex-Mex place in town, but I've had a lot of fun there, so I will miss it.
Here is a sampling of the side dishes that come with the meal. The edamame was extra. My favorite side dish has to be the potato salad. Friday, it has peas, carrots, and apple slices. The Kimchi is also very tasty - it's pleasantly spicy. The broccoli with ginger didn't last very long, either.
Here are M's tempura veggies. They are very crispy and tasty, but I think it would hard to mess up fried vegetables.
My dinner - soft tofu & seafood in a spicy sauce. The waiter was very concerned when I ordered this, warning me that it was very, very spicy. He lied. It was slightly zippy at best. Is it my pasty white complexion that makes people think that I can't eat hot foods?
For the tour around the restaurant - here is my newest friend, BiBim the elephant. I'm not sure why he lives here with his mate, and neither are they.
Big fountains! Always a favorite way to relax after a meal.
Big comfy chairs! I need one of these for the house.
See here! A really big barrel to rest your overstuffed self on.
Restaurants with trees are always a favorite, because I can work off a few of those dinner calories.
